The final week.

Posted 02 Apr, 2010 02:29 AM by Ron

It's good friday, and our youth pastor this week reminded us to not just focus on the death, but on the actual meaning of the resurrection.  Now, I realize that for their to be resurrection there has to be death.  Pastor Joe talked about 1 Corinthians 15, and about the importance, and the hope that is found in resurrection.  I know a lot of quizzers struggle with this chapter, so I challenge you, in this final week, as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus that you find meaning in 1 Corinthians 15.  Talk to your coaches, find hope, and enjoy the promise of a risen savior!

See you all in a week!

Grace and Peace.

Final Countdown.

Posted 14 Mar, 2010 08:53 PM by Ron

25 days until district finals.  The countdown begins.  What chapters do you need to study?  How will you prepare?  I suggest having some fun reviewing.  Get together with another team and have a practice.  Learn a few memory verses.  if you learn 4 a day, you could know them all at finals...or even if you learned one a day, you maybe could get a few extra questions!  Maybe you could pick a few chapters to really study and focus on...

Congrats to Waukegan, Northside, Danville and Kankakee 1st for their participation and placement at the Indy Tournament.  A SUPER BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO EMMA WRIGHT who placed first and was awarded an $800 scholarship to Olivet.  Good job emma!!

Sterling!

Great Job to Manteno, Chicago Northside, and Kankakee 1st who all made the trip to the 35th annual sterling invitational tournament this weekend.  Everyone worked hard, cheered each other on, and had a great time!  Hopefully a few more teams will join us next year!

See everyone in a few weeks, and don't forget--you could still go to the Indy tournament!

Q2010

Posted 30 Jan, 2010 12:14 PM by Ron

Q2010 is going to be a fantastic time as we celebrate 50 years of Bible quizzing.  I really hope we can get a large group from chicago central.  You can quiz with your local team, on a district team, or both! you will get placed on district teams according to your experience level and its a great way to really make friends across the district.  All of the coaches should have received an email with price details and a registration form.  If you did not recieve info, please call or email me so that I can get the information to you as soon as possible.  Individual registrations with deposits are due starting in February.  If you register in February, the deposit is $30.  after that, its 35.  We are working on transportation options to ensure everyone can get there safely. We are still looking for a few district coaches, chaperones, and vans so contact me if you're interested in that as well!  i hope everyone will consider attending this tournament.

Don't forget district celebrate life is coming up Feb. 26-27 at chicago 1st.  Registrations are due no later than Feb 22nd. For more details...check out the ccdnyi homepage!

it was awesome seeing so many of you at snowball retreat!  See you in a few weeks!
